Senior Portrait - Marissa Sandoval | Emily McGonigle Photography

OH MY GOSH, I CAN’T BELIEVE I HAVEN’T POSTED ABOUT THIS SESSION YET!!!

I was going through my back log of sessions today, trying to decide which one I wanted to blog about next and I realized I never posted the images from Marissa Sandoval’s session! That is a major crime that I intend to fix right now. Marissa’s session was definitely one of my favorites from 2018 and I NEVER BLOGGED ABOUT IT. (What the heck, Emily?!)

So ANYWAY… Meet Marissa!

This gorgeous young lady came to me in 2018 for her senior portrait session. She’s really sweet, extremely smart, and ROCKS IT in front of the camera! When I met her she was already working for her father’s home contracting business, Impact Construction, and is now the the in house designer!

She’s amazing, I’m telling you.

The one thing I distinctly remember about Marissa’s session is the wardrobe spread she came with. This girl was PREPARED… AND super organized. She brought a lot of options (I love lots of options), and a ton of jewelry, but she knew exactly what was supposed to go with what and laid everything out, like we were in a boutique. It was awesome to have her so invested in her session and excited to give her input to make it an amazing one.

Marissa’s session was very editorial, even when we introduced the bubbles. That’s my favorite thing: To take something that plenty of people use in a senior portrait session (like bubbles) and turn it into something beautiful and high end, instead of just “cute”. Don’t get me wrong, cute is fine… and in some cases preferable… but Marissa has such a strong, mature presence that it seemed better to make the images strong too.

I also love how we got so many different looks out of her session. We got the images we needed so quickly from each look that we were able to fit in 5 looks in the time that it normally takes to do 2-3!

This meant that we were also able to go on location and catch some of the beautiful sunset light!

What do you think? Gorgeous, right?! I can’t believe it took me this long to share them with you. Wow. But it’s okay, because they’re here now!

And speaking of things that are here now: I just launched the classic version of my Senior Model Program! (“Classic? What does that mean?”) That means, a few months back I launched a senior model program that I recently realized, wasn’t “me”, to make a long story short. So I decided to roll back to what the program used to be, that many of my clients have participated in and loved! Why I tried to change something that wasn’t broke… I don’t know… but you know what they say about that so… I “unfixed” what wasn’t broken in the first place. ;)

To see the updated information and to apply, see the Senior Model Program page! If you’re in the class of 2020, I’m looking forward to your application and working with you on your additional free mini model session! <3
